| Witness appeal to M3 collision Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the M3 at Lightwater between junction three and two at around 5.15pm on Wednesday 12 September. A green Volvo HGV tanker carrying a non hazardous load was travelling south on the M3 when it crossed the central reservation, collided with five other vehicles travelling on the northbound carriageway and then overturned. Several people were taken to St Peters Hospital with minor injuries – whiplash, cuts and grazes and bruising. One man has sustained serious injuries – two broken legs. The cars involved in this collision were a black Mercedes, a black BMW, a white VW Polo, a silver VW Golf and a grey VW The M3 was closed in both directions until the early hours of Thursday morning while Police and other emergency services dealt with the scene. Police are currently continuing their investigation and anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information should call the Surrey Police Collision Investigation Unit on 01932 569922.
