| Do you recognise this man? Officers investigating the robbery at Barclays bank in Lightwater on Friday, 29 December 2006, have issued a CCTV still of a man they want to identify. The raid at the bank in Guildford Road happened at 2.24pm, when two female members of staff were tied up by the robber, who then stole cash from the ATM machine. A second suspect was involved in the crime when he helped the burglar to escape by opening the bank door for him. So far, three people (a 32 year-old man, a 37-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman) from West Molesey, Surrey have been arrested in connection with this robbery and are currently on bail until March pending further inquiries. The main offender, who was dressed as a security guard, is described as a black man wearing a black or navy crash helmet, a white shirt with a partly gold coloured badge on its shoulders, black trousers and black Nike trainers. The suspect spoke with an Afro/Caribbean accent and was carrying a grey security cash box. The second offender, who opened the bank door, is described as a white man. Officers are also appealing for anyone with information regarding the vehicles used in this incident, namely a purple BMW, a blue Audi A4 and a metallic grey BMW 3 series saloon. Detective Inspector Wendy Whiting said: “We are hoping that someone will recognise this man and tell us his name. Additionally if this is you in the photograph please hand yourself in to your nearest police station. Anyone who has any information about the robbery itself, any of the cars involved or any other knowledge which can help police bring these offenders to justice should contact Surrey Police as soon as possible.” Barclays bank is offering a reward of up to £25,000 for any member of the public who provides information which leads to the conviction of the offenders.
