| Do you know this man?
Officers from North West Surrey Police have issued this CCTV image of a man they would like to talk to in connection with the theft of a Royal British Legion charity box taken from the Esso Petrol Station, Frimley Road, Watchetts on 7 November. A man walked into the garage shop at around 5pm on Wednesday 7 November and asked the shop assistant to change some money. The assistant asked him to wait while he served other customers and as the man stood by the till he placed a charity box in his pocket. Having been challenged by the store staff the thief then left the store and made his getaway on a pedal cycle towards Frimley. The man is described as white, about 6ft tall, approximately 30-years-old and of slim build. The poppy appeal charity box was nearly full and it is estimated to contain around £50 in cash. St Michael’s and Watchetts PCSO Phillip Whitington said: “Stealing a charity box is pretty low thing to do and we are hoping that someone will recognise this man and contact us so we can bring the offender to justice. “ Anyone with any information is asked to contact Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222, quoting reference D/07/23529. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be called anonymously and free of charge on 0800 555 111.
