Cyclist who died in Windlesham named
A cyclist who died following a collision in Windlesham yesterday
(Sunday, 24 January) morning has been formally identified as 70-year-old
Joseph Telford.
The victim from the Lightwater area was cycling down Woodlands Lane
towards Chobham when the incident happened at around 10am.
The pensioner had set off on his journey approximately twenty minutes
earlier and rode past the police station, along the Broadway Road and
into Windlesham. He was wearing protective clothing with a bright yellow
jacket and a helmet.
West Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses to the collision and is
keen to hear from the driver of a car, believed to be a small grey or
blue hatchback or saloon model, which overtook the cyclist just before
the incident.
