Crime Reports - May 2007

25th May

Just 3 burglaries to report this week.

1. Clews Lane Bisley (Monday morning) forced open rear window to gain entry stealing a lap top, ipod and plasma TV.
2. MacDonald Road, Lightwater (Monday morning) entered property via insecure door stealing a bag.
3. Horseshoe Crescent, Old Dean, (daytime Thursday) entered premises believed through insecure window stealing DVD player. Exited by unlocking the rear door with the key left in the lock.

Due to Bank Holiday next bulletin will be Friday 1st June 2007.

21st May

Only one burglary to report from the weekend in Bagshot Road, Chobham, overnight Sunday night, forced wooden framed ground floor window stealing handbag and contents.

However I am still concerned about the number of cars being broken into.

People are still leaving Sat Nav consoles, lap tops and bags in vehicles whilst left unattended.

Please look after your property and do not leave any belongings in your vehicle whilst unattended even for a short time.

18th May

Two burglaries to report this week.

1. The Avenue, Camberley (Tuesday daytime) offenders forced rear ground floor kitchen window to gain entry stealing jewellery and lap top and car keys left in the kitchen. Subsequently stole Volvo from the driveway.

2. Blackstroud Lane, Lightwater (early AM Wednesday) offenders forced rear double glazed window stealing mobile phones, lap top and car keys. Mercedes motor vehicle stolen from the driveway.

It doesn't appear that these 2 are linked in any way but it does show the importance of hiding away car keys. It is imperative that all car keys, including spares, are hidden away in a non obvious place.

14th May

Since my last report there have been 6 burglaries across the borough.

1. Waverley Drive, Camberley (overnight Thursday/Friday) offenders have reached through the cat flap in the rear door to reach keys left on the adjacent work top. Have then used the keys to gain entry, stealing various items of property.

2. Broadway Road, Lightwater, Wednesday AM, distraction burglary whereby offender purported to be from Meals on Wheels to gain entry to elderly persons home, stealing cash.

3. Heatherley Road, Camberley (Thursday AM) offenders smashed rear patio door to gain entry, stealing 2 TV's. Using car keys found in the premises also stole Mercedes from the driveway.

4. South Far Lane, Bagshot, Thursday AM, entered premises via insecure door stealing electrical goods and jewellery.

5. Park Road, Camberley (Thursday PM) offenders smashed rear window to gain entry stealing electrical items and jewellery. Used door keys found in premises to open rear door to exit.

6. Longmeadow Frimley (Friday AM) victim has been distracted by caller at the door wanting to look in her garden. Has done so leaving door open and later finding handbag missing.

2nd May

Good morning to you all.

It has been a busy time for us recently so another war and peace style e-mail for you !

You may recall from previous e-mails I mentioned some robberies that occurred in West End on 9th March whereby young persons were robbed of their phones and Ipods. Over the weekend we arrested nine local youths for robbery and conspiracy to rob as a result of the ongoing enquiry. All have been interviewed and released on bail whilst further enquiries take place. The investigation is being led by Dc Paul Kendall from Woking CID and it is looking very promising.

On 19th April we ran an operation at HMP Coldingley where all vehicles and persons heading towards the prison were stopped on Shaftsbury Road. We speak with all the persons and if they are genuine local residents we let them continue on but if they are heading to the prison whether as visitors / staff / workers we check their identity, ensure if visitors they have the correct documents and run everyone's details through our computers. It is a great deterrent to stop people trying to get drugs and other illegal contraband into the prison. Where grounds exist to do so we search the persons and vehicles. We staff this with both Police and HMP officers and use drugs search dogs to assist. We dealt with two people for minor drug offences and seized one vehicle which was being driven by a male who did not have a driving licence. This male is very active in crime and whilst we could establish he was in possession of the vehicle legally it was nice to disrupt his lifestyle, prosecute him for traffic offences, seize his vehicle and make him walk home.

Bisley Fc has had another burglary, this time overnight 27th / 28th April. Extensive damage was caused to the doors and once inside the fruit machine was smashed and various items of sporting memorabilia was stolen. Our scenes of crime officers have attended and will be following up various lines of enquiry.

On 27th April a house was burgled on Broadway Road, Lightwater where the offenders broke in during gained access by rear windows. Once inside they stole computer equipment and DVDs. Household burglaries have been few and far between recently and lets hope it stays that way.

As you will be aware the travellers in Chobham have moved on and are now up in the Addlestone area. I known the council and other agencies have been doing their bit over the last couple of days and put some barriers up in and around Burrowhill to prevent further access. We get plenty of calls about traveller incursions and if you have any concerns when they occur please feel free to contact us or the local borough council. Incursions are a matter of trespass and dealt with in civil law but we will assist where appropriate. If you contact us about incursions the councils can ask for information / calls we have received under information sharing protocols to support their court application for eviction so your information is important.

I have listed below the arrests made in Bisley, Chobham, Lightwater and West End in the last 2 weeks to give you an idea about some of the crimes we deal with

4th May

No burglaries to report this week but as the warm weather continues let's not get complacent.

Likewise, autocrime is still prevalent with motorists ignoring advice to remove property from vehicles when unattended. Subsequently all manner of property is still being stolen from unattended vehicles, including Sat Navs, lap tops, CD's and even wallets.

There will be no reports next week.

Next report will be Monday 14th May 2007
