Thanks to Anne for this recipe - would make a great addition to the Christmas fayre, or even an extra present!

    Chocolate Peppermint Squares

    Ingredients:

    4oz marge.
    4oz S.R. flour.
    2 tsp cocoa.
    3oz soft brown sugar.
    2.5 oz crushed corn flakes.

    Topping

    8oz icing sugar.
    2tbls hot water.
    green food colouring
    4-5 drops of peppermint essence
    5oz plain cooking chocolate

    Method

    Put dry ingredients in a bowl and stir in melted marge
    Press into a swiss roll tin. It will cover it all, just keep pressing.
    Bake in oven for 20 mins 180 25c leave to cool completely.
    Blend icing sugar with water, colouring and essence.
    Cover base
    Chill in fridge
    Melt chocolate and cover icing, chill again.
    Cut and serve. This is a fantastic little recipe.
