VIEWS SOUGHT ON BOROUGH’S FUTURE HOUSING NEEDS People are being asked for their views on housing needs in Surrey Heath over the next 10 years. A new style Local Development Framework (LDF) prepared by Surrey Heath Borough Council will address planning issues in the Borough up to the year 2016. The LDF will include a Housing Needs Development Plan Document (DPD), which will set out policies relating to the provision of affordable housing, key worker housing, housing in rural areas, small dwellings, housing for older persons and people with learning and physical disabilities and provision for gypsies, travellers and travelling showpeople. The Council is seeking views from the public to contribute to the Housing Needs DPD from Monday, September 4, to Monday, October 16. Portfolio Holder for Economy and the Environment Cllr Pat Pearce said: “It is important that we get feedback from as many people as possible. This is an important document which will help shape housing provisions in the Borough for the next decade and we want to hear the views from a cross section of the community. Please ensure that all comments reach the Council by Monday, October 16.” A copy of the Housing Needs Development Plan Document can be viewed at www.surreyheath.gov.uk and clicking on Planning. Alternatively, contact the Council on 01276 707212 or email planning.policy@surreyheath.gov.uk. A copy of the paper and response form can also be viewed in local libraries during opening hours.
The LDF is the Government’s replacement for the old style local plan. For more information
