Atrium Developers
Meet With Locals The Construction team will be using the Forum to distribute information regarding the construction programme and progress up-dates, whilst residents and local businesses will use it to air their opinions as to the impact of the construction on them. Forward Planning and consultation is hoped to minimise any disruption that the development may cause over the next two years. The Consultation Code of Practice was emphasised to ensure a balanced debating session and consistency. It was highlighted that although the Forum had no formal decision making powers, it would be influential, as the Construction Team were keen to work in co-operation with local residents and businesses. Concerns were raised and addressed in regards to several issues, including parking, the environmental impact of construction works, access to the A30 and the graffiti on the hoardings. Mr Glen Fulton, The Chairman of the Forum said, “I am really pleased that the Forum has met for the first time in such a positive way. I am sure it will be very useful in helping the development go as smoothly as possible for all involved.” The Forum intends to meet regularly with its next meeting in January 2006.
