All
The lastest news from the villages. WEST END Of note, and of which you are probably already aware, is that following a further burglary on 24th March at Threshers, two suspects were arrested following the sighting of a vehicle which witnesses had immediately reported to police. Neither suspect is local and the arrests were made beyond Heathrow after the vehicle was seen by a Surrey Dog Handler. The matter is currently under further investigation. As a result of the recent breaks and intervention by the Neighbourhood team, Threshers have now improved security at the store with a ‘fog bandit’ being installed. Local officers have started to receive concerns from residents of youths gathering in Ashley Way. The location is being patrolled and any nuisance behaviour will be targeted. CHOBHAM Overnight on the 10th April two dwelling burglaries occurred whereby access was gained to secure front doors. Property was stolen on each occasion namely wallets and bags containing obvious personnel items. Should anyone be handed or find any property which you would deem to be of a sensitive nature, please hand immediately to the police. On 29th March The Total garage was subject to a break, once again cigarettes being the target. Advice has been given in the past regarding security at the site but as yet little improvement has been made. The increase in these crimes as I previously stated is due to the high value of goods; on this occasion the loss amounted to £7,000. BISLEY I have no recent crime to report on in Bisley however for partaking in discussions in the issue of drink/driving bear in mind some of these recent penalties issued to drivers caught in the village: 25/1 20 mths disqualification for driving with alcohol
above the limit LIGHTWATER I previously mentioned a spate of antisocial behaviour by youths in the village centre. There has been recent damage to a parish noticeboard and gate, inevitably the replacement cost of these being bourne by the public. Information is being received about the youths and we have had reason to conduct a number of stop and accounts. One youth was arrested on 10th April for two offences, he will receive a final warning for causing damage and has been bailed for a public order offence. As a result of information given to police, another youth will also be interviewed. Finally, failure to pay for your petrol can be a
very costly thing. Regards |
