Formed in 1946, Camberley
Natural History Society is a lively group with an extensive
programme of indoor and outdoor meetings to suit most
tastes.
Indoor meetings are held
on the first Thursday of each month (except August), at High
Cross Church, Knoll Road, Camberley at 7.30.pm. The lectures
are on varied topics ranging from grasses to flies and weather
forecasting to wild-life painting.
The
walks and outings are to many local places of interest
including such reserves as Lightwater Country Park, Brentmoor
Heath, Moor Green Lakes and Thursley Common. We also have
trips further afield to such places as Pagham Harbour,
Arundel, Selborne, Kew, Whipsnade Zoo, Tring Natural History
Museum and many other sites of Natural History interest. Other
society activities include conservation work, coach trips,
social events, summer evening walks and additional events
organised at shorter notice.
